SAVOIE-GALLANT, ELSIA - 1930 - 2014 - Elsia Gallant, 83, of Dieppe, passed away on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 at her daughter’s residence, Diane (Perry Cormier), Ammon, NB. Born in Neguac, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jeremie B. and the late Bernadette (née: Thibodeau) Savoie. Dear Elsia was a loving mother of six children. She had retired from Public Service, was a member of Saint-Anselme parish and very involved with her family and friends. She is survived by four daughters: Claudette and Denise both of Moncton, Jacqueline (Alain Lombard) of Petit-Ruisseau, NS and Diane (Perry Cormier) of Ammon with whom she resided; one son, Paul-Emile of Montreal; five grandchildren: Jeremie, Nathaël, Amelie, Dominique and Laurent; two great grandchildren: Jacob and Vincent; two sisters: Violette (late Alphee Savoie) of Neguac and Ida (late Omer Dion) of Moncton; two brothers: Berthelemie (Mona) and Rene (Raymonde) both of Neguac; one adopted daughter, Micheline "Mimi" Lauzon of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Emile Gallant in 2004; one son, Bernard in 1952; three sisters: Liliane (late Romeo Allain), Florine (late Aube Lebreton) and Edmee (late James Richard) as well as six brothers: Edgar, Gerard, Celestin (late Francis), Emery (late Evelyne), Ovide (late Catherine) and Clarence (Melina).
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 10 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at 11 am. Interment in Saint-Anselme parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation or to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
