BEERS, ELDRED E. - It is with great sadness that family announces the passing of Eldred E. Beers, age 95, husband of Doris (Thomas) Beers, of Saint John, and formerly of Wickham, NB, at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing in West Saint John on Friday, February 7, 2014. He was born in Emmerson, NB, on September 5, 1918, the son of the late Herbert and Hesba (Young) Beers of Harcourt, NB. He is survived by his wonderful and loving wife of 69 years, Doris; two daughters Linda (Craig) Parker of Grand Bay-Westfield and Lois (Mike) Gillespie of Saint John; son Donald (Danita Fanjoy) of Rothesay; seven grandchildren Tracy Parker, Sheri Parker-Brown, David Parker, Melody Mercer, Matthew Beers, Lindsay Beers, and Alex Beers; five great grandchildren Katelyn Parker, Ava Rose Brown, Mason Brown, Lila Parker and Lexie Beers; two sisters Gladys Templeton and Marilyn MacDonald both of Riverview; one brother Gordon of Moncton; son-in-law Milton Kinnear; sister-in-law Theresa Beers; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his eldest daughter Joan Evelyn Kinnear of Centreville; one sister Dorothy Beers and three brothers Harry, Carman and Donald.

Funeral Service will be held from Sherwood’s Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 10, 2014, at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Wickham Cemetery. Donations in Eldred’s memory may be made to the Ridgewood Veterans Wing Long Term Care Facility, Wickham Cemetery, or the memorial of the donor’s choice.
