Robertson, James L. Lyons Brook, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2014 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. He was born in Collingwood Corner, Cumberland County on September 7, 1932. He was a son of Alex and Georgina Robertson and lived in River Philip Center before moving to Lyons Brook. He was a Millwright by trade, early in his career he taught welding at the trade school in Springhill and Halifax. James worked at the Pictou Shipyard, Trenton Works, Halifax Shipyard, St. John Shipyard, and in pulp mills and shipyards in British Columbia. He finished his working career at the Dept of Environment, Granton. He is survived by his brother, Lloyd, Simcoe, Ont; sisters, Joan, Lyons Brook; Shirley, Fonthill, Ont/Lyons Brook; Jackalene, London, Ont. and Mary in Calgary. He was a special “Uncle Jim” to his nephews and nieces, namely, Alex (Debbie) Robertson and daughters Melissa and Megan; Debbie (Robertson) Schol and her sons, Brian and David; Cathy Davies and her daughters, Traija and Tralyn, and son, Alex Morris; Charlie Morris and his son Sebastian and daughter MacKenzie; John (Karen) Robertson and sons Alex and Andrew; Cailen (Scott Moffatt) Henry and children Chloe and Isaac; Stephanie Henry; Michael (Erin) Henry. He is survived by many cousins in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida and Hong Kong. He was predeceased by his parents and niece Cheryl Morris. James was past master of New Caledonia Lodge #11, AF & AM, past patron of Victory Chapter #17, O.E.S. Pictou and currently a member of Westville Chapter #24 O.E.S. As per his wishes, his body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical School. A memorial Service will be held in July, date to be announced.
