It is with much love and deep sadness that we regretfully announce that William (Bill) Stevenson will no longer be returning to the home that he loved at Emma Lake. Bill passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert the morning of February 6th, 2014 at the age of 85. Bill was born in Coatbridge Scotland on March 26, 1928 and sailed with his family to a new life in Canada at the age of 2. He eventually settled in Regina where he met the love of his life, Agnes Schmidt. Agnes and Bill would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in March. Bill will be missed and remembered by his wife Agnes, and his 4 children, Sheila (Gerry Hildebrandt) of Calgary, AB, Ray of Loon Lake SK, Glen (Glennys) of Prince Albert SK, and Gail (Garry Warner) of Surrey B.C, 12 grandchildren - Barry Placsko and Renita Warner, Rob and Chris Hildebrandt, Sheldon, Charmaine and Erica Stevenson, Vanessa Bear, Ryan and Tracey Stevenson, Shannon Mitchell and Christine Turnbull, 19 great grandchildren, his sisters Rita, Edna and Christine and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Virginia and his grandson, Warren, his parents, his 4 brothers, Alex, Jim, Charles and John and a sister, Nancy. Bill was an electrician and handyman who always had a project on the go around his home at Emma Lake and he frequently engaged others in those projects. Those projects will be missed by his family and friends. Bill loved to go boating and fishing and he was always happy to share his knowledge of the best fishing holes. His children and grandchildren will treasure the memories of “washing their hooks” and catching a lot of “seaweed” as they circled in on those fishing holes.
