Chisholm, Florence Ellen - 99 of Halifax formerly of the New Glasgow, passed away February 7, 2014 at Northwood Ivany Place, Bedford.
Born in Roman Valley, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late John David and Ellen (MacDonald) Kelly.
She has been a resident of Halifax since 1993 prior to which she was a resident of New Glasgow. Florence was a homemaker most of her life and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Florence always enjoyed a good game of cards, her goal in life was to seek out and help others in need. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is Survived by her children John (Eileen) Chisholm, Lower South River; Rosalia (Doug) Campbell, MacLellan’s Brook; Donald (Margaret), Chisholm, Bedford; Beverley (Howard) Chomondeley, New Glasgow; Kenneth (Dorothy) Chisholm; Hubley; grandchildren Laurie, Crystal, Craig, Christopher, Kelly, Arthur, Tanya, Daniel, Chelsea; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Hugh Chisholm, daughter Helena Burry, son-in-law Lewis Burry, sisters Gertrude Farrell and Margaret Simpson.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel . Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
