It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Harrietta Lanceleve on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Julia (Cotton) Jackalogue.
Harrietta was a homemaker who worked very hard to make sure her family was well looked after and comfortable, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, loved animals but most of all her children meant everything and were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her children, Lena (Frank) Grugnale, Rita (Fred) Dustin, Desire, Felix (Susan), Mary (John) Hurley, Laura, Jeannie (Larry) Collins, Johnny, Winnifred, Angelina Phillips; 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, John Lanceleve, son, Victor Peter, in infancy, sons-in-law, Kevin Hennessy, Bob Phillips, John Gatza and daughter-in-law, Beatrice Lanceleve.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
Donations in memory of Harrietta can be made Palliative Care, C. B. Regional Hospital.
