June Sturge

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family, aged 83 years, June Sturge (nee Butler) of Topsail. Predeceased by her husband Lewis in 1995, and more recently her sister Maude Brown and her nephew Howard Brown. Lovingly remembered by her sons: Don (Linh), Evan (Sheila), Chris, and Howard (Alison), as well as her daughter, constant companion, and caregiver, Andrea (Lester). Nan's life will be celebrated by her grandchildren: Jodi, Robbie, Jonathan, Carleigh, Nicholas, Kay, Jennifer and Justin Bishop and her great grandchildren: Wilem, Amaya, and Lewis. June will be remembered as a beloved Aunt to nieces: Barbara and Brenda Brown and nephew Rex Brown. She will be forever cherished by her lifelong friends: Eva Blakey, Barbara Arnold, Noreen Richardson, Clemmie Smith, Marjorie Miller, Billy Bishop and Major King, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. With sincere gratitude, the Sturge family would like to thank the staff at 5 North A at the Health Science Center for their tireless care, and for providing June with such wonderful comfort in her final days. We would also like to acknowledge the years of guidance and support afforded by Reverend Kearley, the past and present members of the Topsail United Church, and caring staff of Admirals Coast Retirement Center. June's generous legacy as a member of our family, church and community will be preserved in our memories for as long as we live. We will miss you. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, with visitation on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 10 am- 12 pm, 2 pm- 4 pm and 7 pm -9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Topsail United Church, "The Church by the side of the Road", at 2 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2014.
