Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Friday, February 7, 2014, Elizabeth L. ‘Betty’ Davis of Carbonear, age 72 years. Predeceased by husband: Carl, parents: James and Edith Paul, brother: Adam Paul. Left to mourn, three daughters: Cindy Platoni, New Jersey, USA, Carol Ann (Kerry) Noel and Sherry Carpenter (Howard), both of Carbonear; seven sons: Jeff Dowd, New Jersey, USA, Rick (Lynn), Bristol’s Hope, Jamie (Judy), Carbonear, Randy (Wanda), Spaniard’s Bay, Todd (Janis), Ontario, Rod (Michelle), Carbonear and Cory (Lori), Ontario; one step-son: George (Karen) Power, Ontario; twenty-one grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four sisters: Minnie Comptello, Florida, USA, Hazel Symon, New York, USA, Muriel (Beaton) Best, Wesleyville and Rachel Handrigan, Dark Cove, Gambo; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Brian Colbourne conducted the Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 11 from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NL or a charity of one’s choice.
