STRUVE, HANS-GEORG - Hans-Georg Struve of Rear Settlement Road, Harvey, York Co., NB died on February 17, 2014 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on January 22, 1933 in Haus-Nienburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Irmgard (Nootbaar) Struve and the late Gerhard Struve. In Germany, Hans-Georg worked on different farms, later graduating from university in the science of agriculture, and was then the supervisor of a university experimental field for 16 years. Together with his wife, he came to Canada as an immigrant in 1984. He loved this country and has regarded it as a special privilege to become a Canadian citizen. Hans-Georg is survived by his wife, Karin (Bachmann) Struve; two sons, Ulrich Struve (Katherine), Emmendingen, Germany and Friedrich-Wilhelm Struve (Maria Brigitte), Rosenheim, Germany; one granddaughter, Phoebe Struve; three grandsons, Samuel, Alexander and Benedict; a sister, Helga (Struve) Gueldner, Krefeld, Germany; one niece, two nephews, one half-sister, one half-brother and their families.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at Hans-Georg’s request. His ashes will be put to eternal rest at a later date at the Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Should someone want to make a donation in memory of Hans-Georg, the deceased would have liked it to be given to the Harvey Fire Department or the Harvey Lions Club or the Harvey Community Hospital Foundation.
