James E. "Spike" Maddison

James E. "Spike" Maddison, 73 years, of Springhill, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at his residence. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Allan and Lillian (Canning) Maddison.
Educated in Springhill, Spike's early working career was spent in Northern Ontario as a forest ranger, later working as an electrician for the Nova Scotia Government. He was a past member of the R.A.O.B. and Knights of Pythias. Spike enjoyed sitting on his deck with his buddies, playing cards and his friends.
He will be sadly missed by his companion Linda Harrison; sisters, Rhea (Jim MacAloney) Goode, Springhill and Sheila McCabe, Sudbury, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Diana Gail Pyke, in 2000; brother, Allan "Red"; sister, Lynne.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS, (902-597-2361) where visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014, followed immediately at 3 p.m. by the Funeral Service with Major Max Snow officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date.
