Marshall Lawrence

Born In: Falmouth

Passed in: Kitchener, Canada
Passed on: February 22nd, 2014

Lawrence, Marshall William - 50, of Kitchener, ON and formerly of Falmouth, NS died suddenly on Feb. 22, 2014. He was the son of George “Bill” Lawrence and Cora Lawrence. Survived by his companion, Carol Segura; children Amy Verge (Keith), Devon Latford (Nicole), and Dwayne Latford (Katie Lemont); his beloved grand-children Mikayla, Brayden, Ryan, Connor, Autumn, Abby and Emily; siblings Victor Lawrence, Mark Lawrence (Wendy), and Christina Baker (Blair); along with his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Elizabeth MacDonald (Eric). Marshall started his career as a welder at the young age of 17, leaving NS after graduating Hants Regional Vocational, for Alberta. He lived there for 6 years. He moved to Kitchener, ON in 1986 with his brother Mark, and lived there for the remainder of his life. He obtained his plumbing ticket and was a member of the Steam Fitters Plumbers Union local 67. He and Mark started their own company called Able Mechanical for a time. After that, he worked for many different companies and had a partnership in another company, Primitive Mechanical. Marshall was always an outdoors man from the time he could walk. He loved hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, canoeing and camping. His friends and family in Nova Scotia and Ontario were very important to him. He loved to be surrounded by those he loved all the time by having barbecues and bonfires at his house or his parent’s house in NS. During these gatherings he loved to share stories from his childhood and have a good laugh with friends and family. His laugh was infectious and he could easily have the whole room laughing with him within minutes. Marshall made a point of keeping regular contact with his family and friends in NS, visiting every summer and sometimes at Christmas. He was a proud father and grand-father to his family in Ontario. He will be sadly missed by those he left behind in Nova Scotia. We'll never forget you. His funeral was held Friday, Feb. 28, in Kitchener, ON and a memorial service at Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home will be held March 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
