It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Margaret Christina (Pentecost) Allen on Feb. 27, 2014, at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Sydney Mines on April 21, 1948, Margaret was the youngest daughter of the late James and Annie (Briggs) Pentecost.
She married the love of her life, Bruce, and had two wonderful sons, Troy and Kyle. Margaret was a pillar in the Fortress of Louisbourg community as a member of the volunteer militia.
Margaret, fondly called 'Margie', moved to River Bourgeois after the death of her husband and quickly became an active member of the senior community. She loved to play darts, cards and frequent bingo whenever she could.
Margaret leaves behind to mourn her passing two sons, Troy (Martha) and Kyle (Sonya). She also leaves behind her two cherished grandchildren, Caelin and Maeryn, who were the light of her life. Her brother Eddie (Mary Ellen) and sister Anne Marie (Joseph) will miss her greatly. She made many friends where ever she lived and will be sadly missed by all those hearts she touched.
She was predeceased by her husband Bruce, sister Mary and brother John.
The family would like to extend thanks to the support staff and special friends, mom spoke kindly of you all.
Margie's family will be receiving visitors at Tara Lynn Touesnard Community Centre in River Bourgeois from 6-9 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 4). Margie was a loyal friend of the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site and will return there for a Funeral Service in the chapel of the King's Bastion Wednesday March 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. Reception will follow in the McLennan Centre.
