NEW GLASGOW – Maxwell Belding “Max” Lewis, 61, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late David Harold and Agnes Dunlop Craig (Davie) Lewis.
Prior to retirement due to ill health, he had been employed with the Town of New Glasgow as a machine operator for 35 years. Max enjoyed spending time with his cats, Babe and Radar. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Eileen Mary (Pellerine); sister, Janet (John) Stewart, Anderson’s Mountain; sons, John Victor Lewis, New Glasgow; Howard Edwin Lewis, Edmonton, Alta.; granddaughter, Loriann; grandson, Jesse; great-grandson, Nicholas; niece, Agnes; nephew, John Jr.; grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, John and Howard.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date.
