Ralph John Halbgewachs
June 9, 1935 – March 5, 2014

It is with great sadness the family of Ralph Halbgewachs announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Ralph loved his family, friends and the outdoors. Time spent hunting, fishing and camping was precious to him. Woodworking was his passion, handyman was his hobby and passing on his knowledge was his joy. He loved his early years on the farm, trapping and running his team of dogs. He always had a kind word and would never turn down anyone in need of a favor. After retirement many of the world problems were solved having coffee with his buddies. He will be missed dearly. Ralph was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Rose Halbgewachs; his brothers John and Albert; his sisters Elsie Preiss and Freda Huber. He was also predeceased by two brothers in infancy; his brother-in-law Albert Huber and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Doreen; his son Roger (Sharon) Halbgewachs; his daughters Loretta (Peter) Hrenyk and Gail (Rick) Gerow: his five grandchildren Reece and Tiana Halbgewachs, Jordan and James Hrenyk and Bryce Dowhay. Ralph is also survived by two sisters-in-law Shirley (John) Halbgewachs and Flo (Albert) Halbgewachs; one brother-in-law Joe (Elsie) Preiss; and numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Dr. Rossouw and the ER staff, Dr. Ben Saleh and the ICU staff for their excellent care. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes a donation can be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
