It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Isabel MacEachern on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Northside General Hospital, with Claude by her side.
Born in St. Peter’s, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Lois (MacKenzie) Fougere.
Isabel was employed for 28 years in the dietary department, working at Breton Bay and Harbourstone.
She was a self-taught crafter and guitarist, avid bingo player, and a great singer. She enjoyed going dancing with Claude.
Isabel spent vacations traveling to spend time with her precious grandchildren.
Isabel is survived by her partner and best friend, Claude Shepherd; her daughters, Dawn-Marie (Shannon) Mackie, Edmonton, Alta., Wanda MacEachern, Westmount, Elaine (Jim) Janson, Halifax; her stepchildren, Charles (Heather) Shepherd, Terry (Angel) Shepherd and 12 grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Aubrey, Noreen, Wayne, Dale, Karen, Dennis, Della, Heather, Norman, William, Paul and Wendy as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 12 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations may be made to your charity of choice.
The family would like to thank Isabel’s sister Karen for always being there for her, Dr. John Kirkpatrick and the nurses of 4W for their care given to Isabel during her stay at the Northside General Hospital.
