Taylor, Agnes Callander, 94, Truro, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late William and Effie (Lynds) Kirk. Agnes owned and operated Taylor’s Nursing Home in Truro for over 20 years. She is survived by her children, Ross, ON, Donald, Truro, Rosalie Brown, Truro, Bill, Middle Stewiacke, George, BC, Leanne (Michael), Hilden, Jamie, AB, Jason, BC; sister, Dorothy Frohlich, ON; sister in-law, Dolores Kirk, Truro; 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Douglas F. Taylor; sisters, Effie Kubbernaus, Edith Hanlon; brothers, Robert, Lewis and Lloyd Kirk, Norman Donavon; son in-law, Alan Brown. Agnes’ family would like to give special thanks to the VON Care Takers and Dr. Shen for all the compassionate care and love given to mother during her time of need. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. No visitation or funeral service by request.
