Thelma Isabel Nicholson

On March 7, 2014, Thelma slipped away peacefully at the age of 83 years.
Thelma is survived by her brother Roy Nicholson (Shirley), her nieces Dawn Nicholson-O’Brien (Greg O’Brien) and Michelle Nicholson (Pat Hunter), her nephews Jeffrey Nicholson (Kim Keeping) and Erin Nicholson (Monika Janek), and her nine adoring great nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Connor, Serena, Ian, Rachel, Maya, Shaelyn, Robyn, and Ashley. Also survived by longtime friends Lorraine Balderson and Joan Tahirali and several cousins and extended family and friends.
Thelma was born September 26, 1930, in Flat River, Prince Edward Island. She attended Dalhousie University and graduated with a BA. Thelma had a kind and free spirit and was well travelled. Thelma loved art and music and was a supporter of the Ottawa Chamber of Music Society.
Thelma was predeceased by parents Mary Isabel and Kenneth Samuel Nicholson.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Granite Ridge Specialty Care in Stittsville.
Friends are invited to visit at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, Central Chapel, 315 McLeod St, Ottawa (at O’Connor) on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada.
