STELLARTON - It is with heavy hearts that we convey the sudden passing at home of Henry Osborne Marcott, age 83, formerly of St. Theresa Street, New Glasgow, on Thursday, March 13, 2014
Born on October 18, 1930 in Stellarton, NS, Henry will be missed by many.
He was a son of the late Anthony and Molly (MacPherson) Marcott of Stellarton.
Henry was devoted to his family and worked a number of years at Scotsburn Dairy and later retired from Michelin, Granton. An active man until his passing, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and watching hockey, and in his early years, was often known to fix a bike or two for the kids of the North End New Glasgow.
Henry will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary Rita “Mae” (MacNeil); sons: Sandy (Nancy), Bridgewater; David (Nancy), New Glasgow; Paul (Angie), Truro; daughters: Joan Marie (Marcott) Harris, Prince Edward Island; Toni (Wayne) Pelerine, New Glasgow; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and sister Mary (Haggart) Proulx.
He was predeceased by son “Baby John” in infancy; his parents; sister Joan (MacInnis); and brother Gordon Marcott.
Cremation to take place. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
Family flowers only please. Donations in Henry’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
