It is with great sadness that the family of the late Foster Banks announce his passing at the Palliative Care unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, March 14th, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Mirley (nee) Payne; sons Michael (Carla) and Gordon; grandchildren Dylan, Abby and Danny; great-grandchildren Bentley and Keenan Poirier; sisters Jessie Allen and Florence (James) House; sisters-in-law Ada (Malcolm) Palmer, Delores Cutler, Katherine Banks, Dinah (Charles) Brake, Dulcie (Frank) Sheppard, Sharon (Spencer) Osmond, Bernice Whalen, Rosalind Hillier, Edna Payne, Olga Payne and Ina Osmond, as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Hannah Banks; sister Mildred Randell; brothers Alfred, Fred and Alan; father and mother-in-law John and Francis Payne; sisters-in-law Virginia Wells and Judy Payne; brothers-in-law Darius Randell, Robert Allen, Ulric Payne, David Payne, John Payne, Charles Whalen, Clyde Hillier, Frederick Lovell and Nobel Wells. Family and friends may visit St James Anglican Church, Gillams on Saturday from 7-9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. from St James Anglican Church, with Reverend Charlene Laing officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
