Bounsall: Nina Eleanor Beatrice, age 90, of Swift Current passed away March 12, 2014 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The service of remembrance was held March 18, 2014 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church basememt with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. Nina is survived by her sister June Bulin (Gilbert); her brothers Melvin Olson (Jean) and Keith Olson; sister in law Sheila Bounsall; as well as many nieces and nephews. Nina is predeceased by her husband Eric Bounsall; her parents Albert and Josephine Olson; parents in law Herbert and Florence Bounsall; sisters, Myrtle Hogg (Bob), Claira Armstrong (Jake), Lillian Bye, Minnie Watt (Robert), Loyna Rourke (Jack), Lila Woodward (Isaac Hunter & John Woodward) and Lena Dolgopol (Paul); and by brothers John Olson (Margaret), Juel Olson (Florence) and Clarence Olson; sister in law Sandie Olson; and brother in law Cecil Bounsall. Nina was born on the family farm west of Wymark on March 2, 1924. She attended Spring School. As a young adult, she waitressed at the Paris café in Swift Current, where she met her future husband Eric Bounsall. He was in training with the RAF from England. They married in Edmonton, AB on September 29, 1944. Eric took his new bride back to England where they lived for a couple of years. When they returned to Canada, they made their home in Toronto, ON, where Nina became employed in an administrative position regarding vehicle registrations. They enjoyed camping and traveling as often as they could. After Eric's passing in 1995, Nina volunteered for many years at the SPCA Thrift Store in Toronto until she moved back to Swift Current in 2005, where she became a board member of the Swift Current SPCA and even president for a term. Her love for the outdoors and animals was evident throughout her life as she was involved with many charities that promoted the well being of wildlife. This passion continued while living in Swift Current where she continued to take pride in her flowers and feed the birds. In her later years she became an avid curler from her big pink chair with remote in hand. She cherished the time spent at family gatherings, visiting at the Tuesday Legion lunches and coffee with friends at the Co-op Estates.
