We regret to announce the passing of a dear brother and uncle, Wallace 'Wally' Allister MacAulay, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital at the age of 65.
Born in Upper Leitches Creek, he was the son of the late Dan and Christine (Johnson) MacAulay.
Wally worked for 10 years with the Department of Highways and then with the Department of Natural Resources as a fire tower operator, retiring after 35 years.
Wally is survived by his brothers Charlie (Lena) and John (Pauline), both in Upper Leitches Creek and his sister Cathy (John Parks), Georges River. Also surviving are his nieces Shannon, Sydney, and Jennifer, NL., and nephews Richard, BC., Johnny, Sydney, Darren, Alberta, Justin, North Sydney, his aunt Mina Johnson, South Bar and uncle Philip McDonald, BC., and numerous cousins and many friends.
There will be no visitation by request. A graveside committal will be held for Wally at a later date at Calvin United Cemetery, Upper Leitches Creek .
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
