Byron William Jones, 72, of Glace Bay passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Penny) Jones.
Byron had some obstacles in his life and most he overcame with great determination, he was able to get his driver’s licence and his hidden talent was his passion for painting landscapes at home and his love of Old Trucks. Byron will also be missed in his neighbourhood for his daily visits where many looked out for him. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
He is survived by sisters, Bertha Morgan, Charlotte Isnor, Alice Bodhaine and a brother Allan Jones.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased a sister in infancy and a brother-in-law Danny Morgan.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Patten Funeral Home Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
