NEW GLASGOW – Corinne Marie Day, age 101, of the Glen Haven Manor and formerly of Stellarton Road, New Glasgow, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Manor.
Born in Campbellton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lazare and Marie (Levesque) Roy.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid card player and enjoyed needle point, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a strong willed individual which allowed her to remain in her own home until age 98.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty MacDonald, Antigonish; grandchildren: Ronnie, Bobby, Michelle and Lenore; great-grandchildren: Siobhan, Kali, Grace, Ava and Grayson; sisters, Carmel Roy, Campbellton, NB; Anita Ockerden, Acton, ON; brother, Charlie, ON.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; son, Fr. Robert “Bob”; sisters, Eva Watt and Rita Belliveau, brothers, Norman and Gordon, son-in-law, John D. MacDonald.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Glen Haven Manor and High Crest Place for the care shown to Corinne.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery at a later date.
