BASQUE, ROMÉO E. - Roméo E. Basque, 81, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on December 12, 1932 in Saumarez, NB, he was the son of the late Edmond J. and Marguerite (LeBreton) Basque. He held several management positions for 37 years with National Bank of Canada. He is survived by his wife for 54 years, Andrina (Durepos); two daughters: Linda Basque of Montréal and Francine Basque-Tardif (Daniel) of Shédiac; four grandchildren: Stéfan, Terry Jr., Taylor and Sébastien; three sisters: Evelyn Arsenault (late Aurèle) of Azilda, ON, Estelle Doucet (late Aurèle) of Moncton and Jeanne-D’Arc Basque of Tracadie-Sheila; one brother, Réginald (Eugénie) of Tracadie-Sheila; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Florient.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Center, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 7:30 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 6 pm until time of funeral. In memory of Roméo, a contribution to the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
