It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick Sterling Ricketts announce his passing on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Western Memorial Hospital in his 81st year. He will be sadly missed, with fond and ­loving memories, by his wife Gertrude; three stepsons: Calvin (Beatrice), Austin (June) and Darren; six grandchildren: Frank (Eleanor), Wanda Lee (Shane), Lisa, Jeff (Katie Amanda), Bradley and Corey; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law: Ciciley and Marie. Also a large ­circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday at 2:00 pm. from the Salvation Army Citadel in Deer Lake with Majors Wayne & Betty Ann Pike officiating.
