Passed peacefully away at his private residence in Eddies Cove East on March 19, 2014, Mr. William (Willie) Henry Coates in his 88th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 66 years Thelma; son Gerald (Ruby); daughters Betty (Robert), and Marilyn (Whyman); daughters-in-law Hazel and Ivy; grandchildren Gerald Jr. (Lorraine), Jennifer (John), Dean (Madonna), Quinten (Sherri), Carly Ann (Richard), Miranda (Sebastien), Ricky, Greg (Megan), Robbie (Deanna), and Scott; great-grandchildren Tyler, Jada, Carly, Laura, Bobby, Skyler, Sharla, Connor, Willie, and Renee, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Nathaniel, mother Annie, and sons Harrison and Melvin. Visitation took place at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on the Sunday, March 23 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Eddies Cove East Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
