Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on the March 14, 2014, Mrs. Naomi Strangemore of St. Anthony in her 93rd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Selwyn (Ivy), Charles (Gay), Carl (Selma), and Guy (Karen); daughters Nita Seaward, Marilyn (Tony) Walker, Eva (Riley) Applin, and Joyce (Roy) Burt; grandchildren Nicole (Eddy) Cassell, Luanne (Frank) Keats, Todd (Rae Lynn), Tammy, Marla (Ward) Smith, Jodie (Cyril) Lane, Shelley (Cory) Simms, Gavin Applin, Christopher Walker, Heidi Walker, Colby, and Leanne Burt; great-grandchildren Hilary, Nicholas, Amy, Jonah, Andrew, Cameron, Tyler, Lucas, Marin, Mackenzie, Ashley, Erin and Kali; sister Lillian (Hayward) Elliott; sister-in-law Grace Pittman; special friends Evangeline Strangemore, Blanche Burt, Mary Jane Burt and Julie Hillier, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hayward, parents William and Rachel Pittman, brothers Gordon, Ralph, Roy, and Glossen, sisters Edna Drover and Maude Elliott. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on the Wednesday, March 19 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
