Gertrude Wilson passed away at home on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Her memory will be cherished by her family – grandson Jordan Zerr; granddaughter Corrilyn Zerr (Kevin Jones); grandson David Hunter; nieces Donna Lee (Joe) Topham and Lee Ann (Vic) Tessier; sister-in-law Julia Sax; her stepchildren Kathy (Lorne) Gordon, Carol (Al) Boyle, Jean (Gerry) Reeder, George (Denise) Wilson, Thomas (Glenda) Wilson, Debbie (Stephen) Ganser, Robert (Helen) Wilson; stepdaughter-in-law Phyllis Wilson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Aunt Gert was predeceased by her parents Nickolas and Frances Sax; her husband Ray; her daughter Laraine Zenner; her son Gordon Rathburn; her siblings Rosann (Paul) Moser, Evelyn (Bill) Hendry, Josephine (Robert) Ingraham and Theodore Sax; her stepdaughter Gwen Schuett; stepson Doug Wilson and her stepson-in-law Larry Schuett. Aunt Gert was born in Odessa, SK on the family farm. She grew up in the community and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during W.W. II. She was employed at Eatons – 29 years at the Prince Albert store for many years. She was an active member of C.W. L. at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Thrift Shop, the Royal Purple and volunteered many years at the Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home. Aunt Gert loved her family, she loved to cook and she was a prolific knitter-donating to many community charities. She will be missed by all of us who loved her. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or to the Mont St. Joseph Home, 777 – 28th Street East, Prince Albert, Sk S6V 8C2.
