PHILLIPS, DWIGHT LELAND - It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Dwight Leland Phillips on March 26, 2014 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Tracy, NB on September 29, 1946. He was the son of the late Leland and Marjorie (Dewitt) Phillips. He enjoyed many activities in his life such as ATVs, darts, working on his flower beds, music, feeding the birds and loved his grand pets, Casey and Calvin. Dwight will always be remembered as a hard worker and by his dry humor, kindness, and his willingness to help others. Dwight was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 and worked at CFB Gagetown until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Kathy; his children; Leland (Heather) Phillips, Katrina (Stanley) Foster, Clinton (Michelle) Phillips, step children; Melanie Lawson and Ryan (Christie) Nason; his four brothers Douglas (Elaine), Dale (Irene), Clinton (Debbie), Todd, three sisters; Marilyn Cleghorn, Karen (Kevin) Phillips and Lori (Tony) George, eight grandchildren and one great grandson. He was also survived by his brothers in law; Gene (Joanne) Mersereau), Allan, Bruce and James, sisters in law; Brenda (Blake) Perrin, Frances Gallagher, Norma Mersereau and Nancy (Wes) Davenport and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Debra Gowan and the Palliative Care team and especially nurse, Greg Thorton, who could always make Dwight laugh.
