KELLY, PEARL E. - 1925 - 2014 - Pearl E. Kelly, 88, of Lefurgey Special Care Home and formerly of People’s Park Tower, Moncton, with loving family members at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday morning, March 27, 2014. Born in Sunny Brae, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (MacDonald) Colburne.
Pearl was a life long homemaker, whose family was very important to her. She was a Charter Member of West Lane Baptist Church and attended Parkside Baptist Church. Pearl enjoyed knitting, painting, quilting, sewing, reading and spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pearl will be sadly missed by her daughters, Gloria Singer of Winnipeg, MB, Janice Gibbs (Ray), Lynn Kay and Dawn Kelly, all of Moncton; son-in-law, Peter Kay of Moncton; grandchildren, Mark, Tammy, Allan, Kelly, Shane, Shaun, Sarah and Courtney; seventeen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pearl was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry B. Kelly (2008); sisters, Greta Trites (Henry), Vera Walker (William), Bertha Simpkins (Jack), Blanche Lutes (Basil), Edna Mitton (Asa), Ruby Stevens (Douglas), and Daphne Phillips (Nelson); brothers, Hardy Colburne (Audrey) and Hinson Colburne (Beulah), infant brother, Hughie.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Scott Ryder officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Pearl’s memory, donations to West Lane Baptist Church or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
