It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Madeline Robinson age 84 of Amherst announce her passing on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Bible Hill, NS she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Augusta (Mooring) Robinson.
Helen leaves to mourn her brother George Robinson of Stewiacke, NS and eleven nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters Juanita Mitchell of Brookfield, NS and Esther Cole of Amherst.
Helen attended Success Business College, Truro where she took a Secretarial Course. After three years of Theology studies she graduated from the United Pentecostal Bible Institute, Fredericton. Following graduation she was a Faculty Member for eight years.
Helen was a faithful member of the Amherst Revival Centre, was active in church work, teaching Sunday School, local Ladies Ministries and Past Secretary of District Ladies Ministries. She also was a volunteer at the local Nursing Homes and Prison Ministries.
Over the years Helen was employed with C.E. Bentley & Company, Truro, Robinson’s General Store in Stewiacke, United Pentecostal Bible Institute in Fredericton, Halliday Craftsman in Truro, Stott Aluminum in Sydney, NS, Parks Canada, Louisbourg, NS, Truro Daily News, Truro and Department of Indian Affairs in Amherst.
You are welcome to join with the family for visiting on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Revival Centre, UPC, Amherst.
A Service of Celebration will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Revival Centre, Amherst with Rev. Harold Cole and Rev. Jonathan Cole officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East, NS
Family flowers only.
Memorial donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Amherst Revival Centre.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst.(902-667-9906)
