COTTREAU, Dorothy Mae – age 91, Plymouth, Yarmouth Co., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at home. Born May 29, 1922 in Melbourne, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Alma (Boudreau) Pothier. Dorothy worked at Northern Electric in Brampton, Ontario for a number of years. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting. She is survived by a son, Brian (Karen) Cottreau, Farmington Hills, Michigan and a daughter, Deborah Cottreau (Carlo Andreoletti), Saskatoon, as well as by grandchildren, Michelle, Jackie and Sean; great grandchildren, Lila, Noah and Vivienne. Also surviving are brothers, Ernest (Shirley) Pothier and Arthur (Anne) Pothier, both of Plymouth; Billy (Irene) Pothier, Upper Wedgeport; sisters, Eleanor (Lawrence) McDavitt, Walpole, Mass.; Alice Boudreau, Wedgeport; Betty Boudreau, Lower Wedgeport. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter G. Cottreau, as well as by a brother, James Pothier and brothers-in-law, George Boudreau and François Boudreau. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, with prayers beginning at 8:00, both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 1 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Saint Michael’s Parish Cemetery Fund.
