THOMAS, GEORGE JAMES - It is with sadness that the family of George Thomas announces his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 at the age of 72. Born in Stockport, England, on January 30th, 1942 he was the son of the late William and Lucy (Simpson) Thomas. George leaves behind his brother, Bill Thomas of Fredericton; niece, Bronwen Thomas of Massachusetts, US; nephew, Bill Thomas and his wife, Bronwen, of Scotland. In addition to his parents, William and Lucy, George was predeceased by his sister in law, Constance. George immigrated to Canada in the early 1960s. He spent most of his life in Western Canada where in his earlier years he worked on a ranch. He loved the wilder parts of Canada and also enjoyed living and working in places such as Dawson City and White Horse in the Yukon.
