It is with great sadness that the family of the late William “Billy” Bennett announce his peaceful passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Jean Barry; daughter Margie (Joe) Vokey, grandsons: Joey (Natasha) Vokey and Danny (Sabrina) Vokey, all of Corner Brook; sisters: Alice Caines, Deer Lake and Marie White, Pasadena; brothers: Donnie (Carolyn), BC, Jerry (Joyce), Albert (Christine) and Lawrence, all of Pasadena; sister-in-law Melvina; special nephews: Arthur (Roslyn) Bennett, Cyril (Doris) Bennett and Bobbie (Rhoda) Bennett, as well as a large circle of nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Israel and Margaret Bennett; brothers: Ronnie and Eddie; sisters: Mildred (Phil) Beales and Mary Bennett; brothers-in-law Gus Caines and George White. In honor of William’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may gather to celebrate his life on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
