MacSwain, Mark Jeffery – 35, Central Onslow
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Mark Jeffery MacSwain on March 28, 2014 in Alberta due to complications from diabetes. Born in Truro, he was the son of Randy and the late Mary Ann MacSwain. Mark will be deeply missed by his childhood love, his wife Barbara (Dow), and their beautiful daughters, Taylor and Kasey, both at home. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Dawn Fisher (Glen Rossiter); paternal grandparents, Eddie and Ethel MacSwain; maternal grandfather, Ira Fisher; mother and father-in-law, Dale and Carrie Dow; uncles, Mike (Bonnie) MacSwain, George (Darlene) Fisher, Timmy Fisher (Kathleen Drysdale), Eddie (Bev) Fisher, Ira Fisher; brother in-law, Scott Dow; sister-in-law, Melissa (Darcy) Bannister; nieces Alisha Fisher (Cody), Brittany Fisher (Steele); Samantha Eady; Devan Bannister; nephews, Jeremy Eady and Marshall Dow; great niece, Marley; several great aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his mother he was predeceased by maternal grandmother Marg Fisher. Mark enjoyed many years playing baseball, hockey and football. His true passions however were hunting and fishing, especially his many trips with his uncle Mike and close friend Doug MacDonald. Mark discovered his love for bass fishing last year with brother-in-law, Glen and friend Greg Withrow. He was looking forward to and excited about a planned fishing trip to B.C. with his co-workers to catch some “demon fish” this summer. Mark was an apprentice pipefitter in Alberta but before leaving for Alberta last July he worked here at Kohler Windows and Doors, Scotsburn and Canadian Springs. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6 from 6-8 pm; funeral service on Monday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Pastor Bill Martin officiating. Spring interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Live web casting of the service will begin at 1:58 p.m. (Atlantic Time) and is available along with on-line condolences at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
