Grace Price

PRICE, GRACE VIOLET - The death of Grace Price occurred peacefully of Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Loch Lomond Village. Born on April 21, 1918 in Glamorgan, South Wales, UK, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Jane Price. In 1928, Grace emigrated with her family to Canada and settled in Cumberland Bay. In the early 1940's, she joined the Women's Army Corps and was stationed in Sussex. Upon the death of her mother, Grace was given a compassionate discharge to care for her grieving father. Through the Veterans retraining program, Grace gained her qualifications as a controller operator, leading to a successful career with Shell Oil in Montreal. In 1971, she retired and moved back to Saint John to live with her sister, Dorothy. Together, they kept busy volunteering and traveled extensively. Once her health started to decline in the 1990's, Grace moved to the Loch Lomond Villa where she made many special friendships. While at the Villa, she took great comfort in her Bible studies and listening to music.
