With heavy hearts we announce the sudden death of Michael Gatherall Sr. on April 05, 2014 in his 79th year following a brief illness. Mike, true to form, went forth on his own terms with dignity and peace. Mike will be missed by his wife Rosemary, son Aloysius Gatherall and daughter-in-law Joanne Shortall, son Michael and daughter-in-law Heidi (Moore) Gatherall, and his grandchildren Jack, Luke, Claire, Bridget and Jane. Mike is predeceased by parents Jack and Ivy Gatherall, brothers Aloysius, Ambrose, Clarence, Basil, Leonard, Francis, Harold (Margaret) and John (Joan), and sisters Winnifred Boyle (John) and Eleanor. Mike is fondly remembered by his extended family; Gerry and Deborah Gatherall and family; Joanmarie Gatherall and family; Tony Gatherall; John and Karen Boyle and family; the Boyle Families; Gordon and Jeanette Nagle and family; David and Annemarie Maywood and family; Margaret Gibbons (Gus) and family; Marjorie (Mike) Puddister and family; Stephen and Bridie Gatherall and Brenda; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The Family will graciously accept flowers. Memorial donations can be made to the Food Sharing Association of Newfoundland & Labrador. Visitation will be at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday April 09 and Thursday, April 10 with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Friday, April 11 at Sts. Peter and Paul, Bay Bulls. Reception to follow.
