Passed peacefully away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. Gerard J. Lacey, age 60 years. Predeceased by his father William and brother Gus. Leaving to mourn his wife Rosalita (Whelan); sons David (Samantha) and Michael (Ashley); daughter Paula (Matthew). Also leaving to mourn his mother Margaret Lacey; brothers Alex (Sheila) and Bill (Janet); sisters Betty Hickey (Ron, deceased), Rose Joyce (Percy) and Margie Stead (Gerry, deceased); his precious grandchildren Denver, Addison and Gabriella Lacey, Maddison Rose; special aunt Mary Dunphy; cousin David Dunphy; special friends Bernie and Annette Leonard; sisters-in-law Philomena (Don Perry), Deborah (Kurt Martin); brothers-in-law William Whelan and Pat Haggerty as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. No Visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice.

Life's Clock

The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just where the hands will stop
at late or early hour.
To lose one's wealth is sad indeed;
