Pearl Simmons

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a very special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In Pearl's younger years, she was a member of the Salvation Army Home League.
Family was Pearl’s love and joy. She enjoyed gathering at her home, where she prepared many home-cooked meals and was known for her sweet baked goods. Nannie always had time for her grandchildren and will be remembered by her sweet smile, caring nature, admirable strength and quick wit.
Pearl is survived by her sons, Gerald, Jimmie (Tena) and George (Barb); her grandchildren, Beverley, Reggie, Lynn (Tyler), Sherri (Mike), Brian, Nicole (Johnny), Kelly (Buddy) and Brent (Katie);and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by parents, Samual and Francis Smith, husband, Calvin, son, Gordon, grandson, Jason, brothers, Sid, Harold, Sam, Harry, Kenny, George and sister, Lil.
Special thanks to Dr. Butler, Dr. Gallivan, Dr. Archibald and the nurses from 4D, 3 South in recovery and IMCU.
Visitation for Pearl will be held on Friday, April 11 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, with Lieut. Joshua Downer officiating. Burial at later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
