It is heartbreaking to announce the sudden passing of Felicia Marie Gouthro at home on Saturday, April 5, 2014. A loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Daniel Billy Gouthro and Karen Gouthro White (Keith).
Felicia lived her life through her family, there was nothing she would not do for them. She was a loving mother and took great pride in raising her babies. She had a contagious smile that could light up a room. She was an employee of Stream where she met many new friends and was always good for a laugh.
Besides her parents, Felicia is survived by the love of her life and soulmate, William 'Billy' MacDonald; her princess daughter, Kelsey Marie and her hockey-star son, Parker William; grandfather Frank Gouthro, Glace Bay; sister Kerry Gouthro, Sydney; brothers, Billy Gouthro, Vancouver, Trevor Gouthro, Halifax; sisters-in-law Rose Marie (Scott), Lisa (Larry); brother-in-law John (Donna); father-in-law Garf MacDonald; mother-in-law Rose Hall ( Jimmy), all of Glace Bay. She was a loving niece to Joann Hall, Glace Bay, Doreen( Phillip) Evely, Glace Bay, Cheryl (Richard) Hynes, Dominion, Chuck (Cherry) Gouthro, New Waterford; godfather Jimmy (Veronica) Gouthro, Tom (Linda) Gouthro, Allan Gouthro, Richard Gouthro, all of Glace Bay, George (Sheila) Gouthro, Ontario, Frances (Pius) MacIntyre, New Brunswick, Georgina MacDonald, Ontario, Alice (Larry) Shaubel, Ontario; godmother Bernice Gouthro, Gardiner Mines. Felicia was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends — too many to mention, especially her sisters by choice Samantha Gouthro and Terrilynn Fougere.
Felicia was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Mary Gouthro, paternal grandparents Charles and Margaret Gouthro, uncles Dan Gouthro, Stephen Patrick Gouthro and cousin Tammy Gouthro.
Visitation for Felicia will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Daniel Boudreau will be celebrated 11 a.m., Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Glace Bay. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney. Following the cemetery service, all are invited to a reception at Immaculate Conception Church Hall.
Memorial donations in Felicia’s memory may be made to the Town Daycare Fund, Glace Bay or a charity of choice.
