September 1, 1946 - April 10, 2014 - The family of the late Jean G. Brake wish to advise of the passing of a precious wife, mother, grandmother and the best friend anybody could wish to have, following a courageous battle with leukemia. She was predeceased by her parents Warren and Edith Dawe and in-laws William and Beatrice Brake, along with many other relatives. Jean was a member of Zeta Masters of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an accomplished artist and a member of the League of Artists of Western Newfoundland. However her love of gardening over ruled all others with having to be reminded of darkness in the evening before tearing out one last weed. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 PM from All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, donations may be made to the 4th Floor Chemo Therapy Unit or the Shriners Hospital Patient Transportation Fund or a Charity of one's Choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
