Glen Deveaux

Born In: Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada
Born: March 11th, 1973

Passed in: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Passed on: April 5th, 2014

We deeply mourn Glen’s passing and at the same time celebrate his life. He touched all of our lives in so many special ways, with his sense of humour, his wit and his love of entertaining with his guitar and songs. Glen was born in Miramichi, NB, and after college decided to move to Fort McMurray, AB, to pursue a career with Syncrude Canada. He joined as a power engineer and over the years, soon found his niche as an incident investigator and facilitator. In October 2013, Glen decided to take a year off to realize a lifelong dream of travel with his truck and trailer, his Harley and no specific itinerary. On February 7, his year of travel and adventure sadly ended when he suffered a tragic accident in Los Cabos, Mexico, and with the same determination that he lived his life, he endeavoured to fight and win this ultimate battle. However on April 5, Glen peacefully succumbed to his extensive injuries with his loving family by his side. Glen’s commitment to living life to the fullest and his unwavering determination are an example for all of us to live by. He will be missed forever by his mother Joyce; his father Patrick; his sisters, Dawn (Jay) Gartry and Sheryl Deveaux (Gord Finnigan); his brother Cory Deveaux; his six nephews, Jarrid, Nathan, Lucus, Matthew, Kieran, and Dawson; his only niece Marissa; and his new love Ruth. Glen will also be missed by his grandparents, Mary Deveaux, and Loretta and Ned Desroches; cousins, aunts, uncles, and many, many friends. A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 4 p.m. For Glen’s East Coast family and friends, there will be a service and celebration of his life this summer in P.E.I. where he will also be laid to rest. Further details will follow at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Glen Deveaux, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB, T2E 2V6.
