Donald Scurlock

Canadian Soldier, Marine Engineer, Shriner, Gardener & Grandfather. Don was born in Hampshire, England. He passed peacefully away at St. Luke's Home on April 15th at the age of 78, with his daughters and granddaughter holding his hands. Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Grace (nee Coaker). Leaving to mourn children Nicola Manning (Dennis), Trevor Scurlock (Kim), Jennifer Scurlock (Ernest), Wendy Irrinki (Anand). Leaving with cherished thoughts of Poppy, grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Elise, Megan, Kristie, Ethan and Danielle; sister Valerie Moore, Romsey, England. Also left to mourn large extended Coaker and Scurlock families, and many friends. Thank you to the staff of 5 South B Health Sciences for the kind attention up to two days ago, when Dad wanted to go home to St. Luke's. A special heartfelt thanks from our family to the loving staff of St. Luke's homes for the kindness and kinship the past three years, and more so, for the compassion the past few days; you supported Dad all the way. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Thursday, April 17, 2104 from 2pm-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett's Mount Pearl Chapel on Friday, April 18, 2104 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a Shriner's Hospital for Sick Children. Please visit www.barretts.ca to sign the memorial guest book.
