Candice MacDonald

MacDONALD, CANDICE - Her journey has ended. After a lengthy illness, Candice Mary (Osborne) MacDonald, wife of Dennis Lee MacDonald, passed away on April 19, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born on February 19, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Frederick L. and M. Blanche (Marks) Osborne. Candice attended local schools, and at Saint John High she met the man she would marry. Candice worked at various companies in Saint John after her children were in Junior High. She was very involved with her children and their school activities, sports and hobbies. She sewed many costumes for dramatic plays at Saint John High. Candice loved music and was thrilled when her last job was Event Coordinator at Festival by the Sea. She loved cooking, travelling, knitting, sewing, quilting and smocking many little dresses for her granddaughters. When she got an embroidery machine, everyone got embroidered things. Candices’ greatest passion was spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Candice also loved walking her dog Molly with her friends Sandra Fergusson and Wanda Bjurstrom, who both predeceased her. Candice will be missed by her husband Dennis; children, Jennifer (Bert) Ljungstrom Jr. of Ottawa and Jeremy (Nadia) MacDonald of Fredericton; seven grandchildren, Eileen Jones, Alexia and Nikolas MacDonald, Ainsley, Parker and Ben Ljungstrom; her sister Cynthia (Dave) Logan of Saint John, brothers Michael (Janice) Osborne of Grand Bay-Westfield and James Osborne of Moncton, several nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins. Candice also has a stepson Adam Shea of Maces Bay and granddaughter Lily Shea. Candice also had a very dear friend Vesta (Keith) Bishop, who helped her through her illness.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Candice’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 22 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm with interment at a later date.
