At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, the passing of Edna Woodgate, (Nee Semple) age 85 of Victoria Cross, wife of the late Ernest R. Woodgate, occurred on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Born in Montague, on February 1, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Irene (Crooks) Semple. Edna is survived by her children James (Gail), Donna (Sterling) MacLeod, Carl (Penny), William (Isabel), George (Maude), Barry (Florence); brother and sisters Mildred Lanigan, Shirley Adams, James Semple, Audrey Easter; ten cherished grandchildren, seventeen cherished great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by brothers and sisters Effie Crabbe, Helen Moore, Alma Semple, Hazel Murphy, Sadie Rafuse, Ruby Sorrey, William Riley, Daniel Semple, Ethel Anstie and Elmer Semple.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, with visiting hours on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment to take place in the Union Cemetery.
