It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Vincent announce his passing at his family residence on Thursday April 17, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Gordon was born at Triton. He married Phyllis Vincent of Pilley's Island on December 3rd, 1952 and they remained married for 61 years. His vocations in life were a logger, painter, drywaller and finally working at Lundrigan's Block Plant in Corner Brook until his retirement. Gordon leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Phyllis, children: Olga (Harvey), Jocelyn (Paul), Tracy (Linda), Grandchildren: Vicki (Craig), Christopher (Charlene), Philip (Katelyn), Sarah, Patrick, Justin, Jaren; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Leigha and Matthew, brother Otto (Ceila), sisters-in-law: Alma, Shirley, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Janet Vincent, brothers Ronald, Bramwell and Harvey. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday April 21, 2014 between the hours of 3-5 & 7-9 pm… Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday April 23, 2014 from the Salvation Army Temple, O’Connell Drive at 2 pm., with Captains Stephen & Erika White officiating, interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
