Heather was the youngest of 11 children & is survived by her brother Parker; and sisters; Margaretta, Charlotte, Erma & Joyce. Heather was predeceased by her brothers, George & Kevin; and sisters; Marie, Roma, & Sally. Cremation has taken place. As per Heather’s request, there will be no memorial or service. Heather’s ashes will be placed at her mother and father’s grave in PEI with a keepsake of ashes to be kept as well. Thanks and gratitude to all of the nurses and doctors at the Halifax dialysis clinic (especially Grace), the palliative care & VON nurses that visited our home and the nurses and doctors at Soldier’s for making my mom’s final few months as peaceful and pain free as possible. Now for the emotion; How do you put in words the loss of a loved one? Anyone who knew my mom knew she always appreciated the company of individuals that were down-to-earth. If you made her little brown address book that meant you had proved yourself. My mom loved to travel as long as she could speak the language & the food was not fancy & strange. Being the youngest, she always got special treatment. My poor dad had to carry on that practice when they got married (as did we all). My mom had such fond memories of her childhood and most of her dreams were of her mom & dad when they were young. As her granddaughter Madison says, “Nanny is happy now because she is with her mom & dad in heaven and she loves her mom & dad”. Mom, I am sure that I speak for us all in saying that you will be greatly missed. Don’t worry; I will take good care of daddy. Arrangements were entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
