It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Joseph Fraser age 83 of Amherst announce his passing on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, NS.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Samuel and Beatrice (Petitpas) Fraser.
Ernest worked at Robb Engineering in Amherst for 30 years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, clam digging, picking crows feet and playing darts.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy (Dean) Bureaux and his son Jackie both of Amherst, two sisters Marjorie Martin and Helen Ward both of Amherst, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ernest was predeceased by his wife Mary (Harrison) Fraser, two sons Gary and Donald, brothers Bob and George and sisters Bertha and Evangeline.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 7 -9 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, (902-667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Campbell’s Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Christ Church Cemetery, Amherst.
Memorial donations in Ernest’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
