GRANT, Frances Amy - 82, Bayhead, Colchester County, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 17, 2014 in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.
Born in Tatamagouche June 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo G. and Stella M. (Tattrie) Mingo.
Frances was very active throughout her life in her community, her church and with her family. She and her late husband, Walter, operated the Malagash Irving Station from 1961 to 1975 and then Sunrise Trail Sales and Service from 1975 to 1999, and also worked at C.G. Fulton Pharmacy from 1975 until her retirement in 1995. Frances was a member of Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church, joining in June, 1948, was a choir member since 16 years old, taught Sunday school for 20 years, guiding and was a member of the Trefoil Guild since 1998.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna Yuill and her children, Jennifer (Joel) Wright, Tracy (Jarret) Atkin, Kim (Trevor) Irvine, Kathryn (Fiance, Ryan Graves) Yuill; Betty (Dan) MacEachern, and their children, Denise (Mike Turner) MacEachern, Jason MacEachern, Stephanie MacEachern; Joy (Rodney) Reid, and their children, Krista (Chris) Dease, Dana Reid, Holly Reid, Vikki (Shaun) MacLaughlin; Sandra (Rick) Hillier, and their children, Ian (Ellen) Hillier, Ryan Hillier; Sherry (Eric) McDonald, and their children, Megan McDonald and Kailee McDonald; great grandchildren, Camden, Ellissa, Teagan, Cole, Mason, Jonah, Quinn, Audrey, Nicholas, Noah, Gavin, Lauren, Cohen, Olivia, Lachlan, Patrick; brother, Floyd Mingo; sister, Lorraine Stevens; aunts, Berthena MacDonald and Winnie Colpitts.
She was predeceased by her husband, J. Walter Grant; great granddaughter, Leni Hillier; son-in-law, Ralph Yuill.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Coulter's Funeral Home (657-3288), Tatamagouche. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 21 in Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Tatamagouche, Rev. Mary Anne Grant officiating. Interment will be in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Tatamagouche. Family flowers only by request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church or the North Shore Health Services Foundation would be appreciated.
