It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious Margie MacDonald, 55. Margie died peacefully on April 19, 2014 at her home in Fort McMurray, Alberta surrounded by her family. Born in Cape North,NS, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Jack MacDonald.
She is survived by her husband David Mac Rae, daughter Shauna (Vincent) Genneaux, grandchildren Silas and Izzie (Fort McMurray), sisters Gloria (Cape North), Connie (Lower Sackville), Floss (Gerry) (Pictou County) and nephew Christopher (Fiona) (Sugar Loaf). She leaves behind brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews as well.
She was also predeceased by her brother Ian and niece Kimberly.
The only thing that brought Margie more joy than a big piece of chocolate cake was being Nannie to Silas and Izzie. At work, dances and especially darts, she was always surrounded by special friends. After leaving her beloved Cape Breton beaches behind she grew a fondness for the beauty of trees. Her generosity and ready smile has made her loved by many. Her quick wit, ability to see the humour in any situation and to give her honest opinion will have friends sharing “Margie Stories” for years to come.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Cape Breton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
